Dheeraj Kolla


Dheeraj is a micro artist, social worker (activist), entrepreneur and traveler.
He is a self-taught micro artist who specializes in portraits, letters, and logos on the nibs of the pencils and many other art forms. He has set two world records and gave his talks at platforms like Tedx and Josh talks etc., He was (invited to)/(a part of) the world's longest train journey, Jagriti Yatra(2017-2018) as a guest artist. He has also been a part of many social activities and took a step to start the initiative of Share a meal which (had a huge response)/(was a great success).

Early Life

Growing up as a child Dheeraj had always been inclined towards art and creativity. He had picked a special interest towards them after watching the famous MAD show on the television. He was inspired by the host Robert Harun. Dheeraj started micro art initially on chalk pieces where he carved names, letters, etc., but it was only during his engineering that he took micro art seriously. Coming up from a middle-class non-orthodox family, his parents were always supportive of him be it anything that he wanted to do or pursue. Being a mechanical dropout, Dheeraj always wanted to stand out of the crowd and never let academics become the judging criteria for him, which also let him become the founder and president of the Entrepreneurship Cell in his college 'AVNIT'. It was around 2011-12 that he constantly gave in his efforts towards micro art, the only thing that kept him driving. His curiosity in magnifying every minute detail in the most complex works thrilled him in making his career choice. Starting with alphabets, names and then he took off with symbols, logos, and many other topics to depict. He began to show the world on the nib of his pencil tip.
It was towards the end of 2015 and the very beginning of 2016 that his work kicked off to gather some attention from the people and media.

Profession

He was successful in creating a position for himself in the field when he achieved the Guinness World Record in 2017, not once but twice. He carved the face of Lord Shiva on the pencil tip of 0.3mm and the second record was when he carved 22 letters on the length of the lead pencil in a record time of 60 mins.
From then he became a local star in the media showcasing his works until when the history channel featured his story shortly after that his works were hailed at a national level. His Instagram logo miniature that was exhibited on the occasion of WWIM-16 Insta meet is still under the limelight of the social media.



He has many inspirations in the field starting from the Russian sculptor Salavat Fidai, Chinese artist Chain chu lee and many others leading the domain. His works were noticed and appreciated by many celebrities around the state and country. He presented his works to many well-known ones of the Telugu Film Industry like the producer Dil Raju, Senthil- cinematographer of Baahubali, actress Kalpika, anchor Pradeep Machiraju, singer Sreeram, etc.,
He also presented his work to the IT minister of Telangana state Mr. K. T. Rama Rao, a sculpture of Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam to Kalam University CEO Mr. Srujan Pal Singh, Mr. ESL Narasimhan- Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Pullela Gopichand and many more to add on to the list to make it worthy.

Social Activities

In addition to the creativity and the micro art in which he was very determined to pave a career path for himself since his childhood Dheeraj always had an urge to give his own share of contribution to society.
He was involved in many activities and volunteered events that were held for a social cause while in his college and kept continuing them. It was the learnings from his mother who always told him about the importance or charity and stressed about donating food for the needy.
In the quest to start something on his own, he ideated an initiative called Share A Meal in 2017 along with a fellow Hyderabadi. The motto of Share A Meal was to donate one meal a day to any needy person, every day. To make this, big Dheeraj opted the social media as an aid for him to spread this. While he shared a meal everyday he posted a picture of the same on Instagram with #Shareameal. It was on the 200th day of the  initiative on November 16, 2017 that it was successful in gathering a huge attention. On the occasion of 200th day he along with few of his friends asked people on Instagram to share a meal for 200 people, which actually happens with a great spirit. The Share A Meal has won Telangana state level award- 2017, felicitated by the NGO Media and Vandemataram Foundation head Mr.Ravinder.


Media, Awards and Appreciations

Dheeraj Kolla was featured among International and national news magazines like Times of India, New Indian Express, The Hindu, ANI news agency, Sakshi, Eenadu, The Hans India, Hindusthan Times and few others.
Among the digital media pro sites like Chai Bisket, The Better India, Stumagz and Being Legends gave a huge shootout on his works. He was also recognized and appreciated by AugustFest, ImpactFest, Phisical literacy days and WalkForWater.



 Dheeraj Kolla made his place by bagging many awards be it for his artworks or for his social activities.
To expand his boundaries at a higher level, he has applied to take part in the world's longest train journey- Jagriti Yatra (2016-17) unfortunately for which he wasn't selected. But in very next year for Jagriti Yatra(2017-18) he was invited officially as a role model/guest artist. As a part of the 15 day, 8000km national odyssey to meet the social and business entrepreneurs of the country his work was caught the sight of a very large crowd. He presented his work to the president of the country Shri.Ram Nath Kovind, who took special interest to listen to him and complimented on his exceptional work.
Soon after the Yatra he was found himself getting connected with artist from all over the country and even at an international level.
Soon after then, he was invited to give a talk by the team of Tedx at ISBR Bangalore. Dheeraj frequently gave talks later to that hitting various platforms like Josh talks and few others.
He was invited as a guest to almost 10+ schools and colleges to give out talks and hold discussions about the importance of art and regarding the social activities too.
He has been the youngest fellow member among the top founders guested at the panel discussion commenced at the Muffakamja Business School. Recently he was invited and felicitated at the Linkedinlocalhyderbad where his work and talk were highly applauded.

Currently Dheerajkolla is a Managing Director at Naavigo which is a well known event managing firm.
